Post: Have Problem with Engine Swap Sound, Need Help

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i was just watching a video on how to do engine and chassis swaps after 2.14 update. I got in a Toyota GT 86 and manually saved my gave, transferred it to my usb and opened it on my computer. I decrypted it with bruteforce and opened up the gt5 save in hxd hex editor. Searched my psn and changed the one line of FF to the 74. Then saved and encrypted. Opened my gt5 v1.5 garage editor, loaded all the car info. I changed the engine to a 97 supra, 2jz, changed the chassis to the 08 lambo gallado, changed the LSD and gearbox to 97 supra. Clicked hybrid car and transfered it all back to my ps3. loaded up gt5 and went to gt auto did a oil change, the hp was 332 so I know the engine swap did work, and my tires were out wider so I know the chassis worked, but my problem was when I went to test it in practice, the car didn't have the 2jz engine sound. The car sounded like a electric car. Can someone point out if I did something wrong or tell me if there is a fix to this?

I heard sometimes you need the racing exhaust installed to get the engine sound, have you tried installing the racing exhaust?

When you swap an engine, you have to make sure that you are putting a turbo tuned engine into a turbo car and a supercharger tuned engine into a supercharger powered car.

For example I wanted to put the Blitz Skyline '07s engine into a Nissan 350Z, but there won't be any sound because the Blitz is available with a turbo option whereas the 350Z only comes with a supercharger option. I could however, put a Shelby Series One engine in the 350Z because the Shelby comes with a supercharger.

The new engine has to be the same aspiration type as the stock engine of your car.

Yes and no. Although this is absolutely true for when you are installing a race car's engine into something, if the engine you are using has other exhaust options available it doesn't matter what exhaust you use.

Not in my experience, it doesn't.
So long as you don't try adding a turbo or supercharger to the wrong engine type there isn't usually a problem. For example, I've put together a Motorsports Elise with a Ford GT engine. The MS Elise only has a turbo'd engine in stock form, whereas the Ford GT is supercharged. Adding the stage 3 turbo removed the sound completely, and as soon as I removed it the Ford's sound returned.
Also, if the car has no turbo or supercharger options, both seem to be an option through hex that actually work. My Fiat 500 Lounge edition has a Ferrari 458 italia engine, the Ferrari engine has no turbo tuning options on the standard car, yet doesn't lose it's sound when you add them.

In the case of your Blitz, it has a turbo code which is not the default 091D which the 350z would have on, which is why your sound didn't appear MFX. Change that on the 350z to 121F and the Blitz engine should make some noise.

The same is true of the GT86 and Supra RZ, the default (or stock) turbo codes are different, so you need to adjust accordingly. The stock turbo code for the Supra engine is 0934, so you need to check the GT86, as it's likely to have 091D in there at the moment.
