How do you invite people to your squad before a game?

right now you can't squad up in the menu. They replaced it with an automated system which will always put you in a friends squed or the same team if his squad is full when you join them so right now you can only join/invite squads when in a server. The squad lobby in BF3 was perfect so i hope they bring it back

Spent about half hour trying to figure it out, I couldn't even invite a mate to a game, it just said cannot invite or something, it's a piss take, hopefully they bring back squads in the menu or it looks like we'll just have to search for empty servers everytime and then stay in the same one so no one gets left behind
