As long as you could only mod your money and add in parts that are already available then it would be fine. Its just when we start getting hybrids and stuff that the game could be ruined or really fun.
but it has another layer which I have had successfully decrypted.
Yeah. The GT community is capable of doing weird stuff right here (hello Luca and all other hex participants ).
What about releasing a sweet nice DLL with an API to it where we can get the whole stuff done by ourself?
I guess, the community will take advantage of it BIG time if you'd release such thing. For my part, proper crediting is an essential thing. I credit whomever gets things done
On the other side, if PD designed the savegame to be anything like GT5, I wish you all the luck in the world. To understand what PD went through when they designed the savegame. Just because, I did. And it was painful
The secure_file_id key is of course easy to find, but it has another layer which I have had successfully decrypted.
Expect an editor next year :p
*EDIT*
The save seems to be stored in a SQLite database once it's fully decrypted.
I will be looking into this more further.
Heck, just give us some way to decrypt it fully ourselves so we can hex edit and we'll all love you. It'll keep it from spreading so fast like it did on GT5. I'm dying to get a chance to look at the save in BruteForce too.
I already thought that it maybe wouldn't be that hard to decrypt. There are already pictures of hidden cars posted on GTP.
Hmmmm. I'm unsure if I should continue to play the game as it was meant to be or if I should jump into exploring another GT title again
I'd really love to see a decrypted save, damn curiosity! I guess I'll take a look into it on the weekend.
If I find anything, I'll have to make up my mind about it. For my gusto, it's way too early in the games life to make anything public..
