Nice set up. Why did you choose sports soft over racing soft? Is it just a preference or another reason?

What I found strange is the fact you set the dampers compression so much higher than expansion. I usually start by setting these the same but after fine tuning almost always find putting expansion slightly higher than compression was better. Setting it that way seems to make the car handle a little better.
I am by no means an expert at tuning and any reasoning behind it would certainly help me out.

Racing: Soft tires are actually grippier than any racing tire. Sports: Softs are already at the lower tiers of racing slicks in terms of grip.

In the code for GT6 there are 16 levels of grip that are then put through a multiplier. They all use the same multiplier so the levels are directly proportional. Sport soft are actually 2 levels below the racing hard unlike the single point separation between the other tires types. I had asked because he was attempting to build a car with strong highway speed pulling power and felt it strand he did not take the racing tires. There are other properties to tires than just grip there is also rolling resistance which is lower the harder the tire.

I was under the impression that grip and rolling resistance of a tire were directly related.

In past versions of GT the grip / rolling resistance relation was quite noticeable. I don't think it has the same effect in the physics engine of GT6. I could be wrong as I have not tested it.

While testing CD and drag I build some extremely unrealistic cars in terms of grip and HP. Air resistance has changed and CD values of cars are not as correct as they used to be due to the new system. Drag is definitely exponential as each body type will hit a point where no matter what amount of HP and grip you throw at it there comes a point that the tires will just spin rather than overcome the drag.

My point of mentioning the CD tests is even with that ridiculous amount of grip there was no noticeable rolling resistance change.

Does anybody has a god stingray drag racing setup?
