All right now to my point. Every class in the game has access to the DMR rifle set, and for those who are premium, they have access to a free shortcut to unlock them all. The DMR easily dominates ARs at long range, and can be used for fend off snipers who want easy kills. Most of them are a 3-4 body shot kill, and a 2 shot headshot kill. They are deadly accurate and can be rapid fired like a hand gun providing ungodly suppression. How do you nerf this? Sure everyone can use it but there are those of us who will not stoop down to using the most overpowered gun set in the game. I prefer to use my ARs, MGs, and Carbines thank you.

So what are your thoughts? How do you balance the DMR and prevent the spamed use of it?

I don't see how you believe that this gun is too overpowered and needs to be nerfed? The whole point of the DMR's is to be good at medium to long range so of course it will overpower AR's at long range if your trying to use them fully auto. Every AR can go into single fire mode though giving you the same advantage as the person with a DMR so that should solve that problem. A con it has is close range you can easily get out-gunned by anything that is fully auto. Also Battlefield saw that these guns were even too weak and went a head and made them more powerful as to give them a good use, I do not use them anymore since I have unlocked them all but all in all only a handful of them are good and yet you still need to be able to aim well in order to kill someone as you can not just spray and pray with it.

tl;dr If the DMR's bother you that much get good :P

That is the thing tho. You can spray and pray with it. Not as well as a full auto, but you can spray. Also you are right. It should out range an AR. As for the AR single fire, it doesn't have the range, damage, or suppression effect a DMR has. DMRs have "sniper level" suppression. Meaning every shot sounds like a sniper shooting at you, which is flat out annoying. I'm not trying to recommend a nerf hammer DICE is so famous for. They have a habit of over compensating when they buff or nerf something. I think to balance the DMR, what they need to do is take away its "sniper level" suppression. Also, make it do 25-30 damage for chest shots, and then apply multipliers where needed. All I am suggesting is that it take a bit more than 3 bullets. A slight damage nerf. A DMR should provide a better range though. So I would buff the damage falloff to about 120m. Personally I don't think that is too unreasonable. Make ARs able to compete with them at short-mid range (by that I don't mean short to medium range. I mean like the range of about 40m, which isn't exactly medium range, but isn't short range.) Right now if you pit an AR against a DMR at 40m, the DMR is gonna smoke it.

tl;dr Slightly nerf damage and buff the range to allow other weapons compete at the range of around 45m, but the DMR still does better at the 70m+ range. Also check out the DMR stats and then compare them to the ARs. You must login or register to view this content.

EDIT: To prove my point, compare the DMR stats to the ARs, and then try to point out why what I am suggesting wouldn't work.

DMRs I have no idea on when suppression kicks in.

Not sure if the above numbers are correct. Pretty deadly at middle ranges to long ranges. Not used any yet mainly due to ranking up other guns first. Also need to get into the playstyle which I don't have lol
Only time I die to these guns is when I killed 4 people in a row on low health and some guy picks me off.

You can counter them with certain guns are a couple Carbines which just can do work against them along with ARs.
As for LMGs a host of them, which just ruins DMRs.

Carbines
AK 5C/AKU-12/ACE 52 CQB/M4
ACE-21 CQB Jack of all trades

SG553 could work, but it's hard to get used to :p
AKU 12 put into burst fire mode and profit.

ARs
SAR 21/M16/L85A2/CZ-805
ACE 23

I would say the QBZ-95 also.

Not that spammable I have died due to a couple close range DMR users but that due to me biting off more than I could take :p

See that is the thing though, they were weaker when the game first came out and it took like 5-6 hits just to kill someone and it made the guns fairly difficult to get a kill. I understand what your saying but I feel like they made them just right with the last tweak they did to it.
