Some cars in the game have additional working gauges aside from Speedo & Tach. Not all are clear as to what they are displaying aside from the obvious boost gauges.
Take the 97T for example it has a fixed "85" and a second 4 digit indicator varying from around 800 to 1100 as you drive. The 85 I'm positive is the engine temperature, while I make an educated guess the other is the Turbo Temperature, with the high boost level and danger of a fire.

I was doing laps with the VW VGT GTi noticing a 85c engine temp, a 110c oil temp, a lap counter & a fuel gauge indicating 55L.

With gas being roughly between 0.71kg/l to 0.77kg/l I can safely use 0.75 for my estimation calculation with confidence its going to be extremely close.
55 x 0.75 = 41.25kg of Gas
I can see PD calculating this between 40 to 45 maybe 50 kg
Interestingly many cars have a curb weight and weight balance that appear different to specs found online. There are often discrepancies grabbing specs online often fuel weight being a cause, so this is something that doesn't surprise me.
I will also note the fuel gauge is dynamic so as you drink the fuel, the 55l counts down the liters. When in TT and Free Run the Gauge still indicates 55l fixed while this is not confirmation with full certainty, its safe to assume the Weight of the fuel is in the gas tank.
I run events with fuel and tire wear and its clear as the tank gets close to empty the vehicle weight is lighter than with a full tank of gas, set ups for racing these events need to take this into account, as the great Nikki Lauda said "Its very easy to get the car good in the beginning of a race, because you can set it up in practice, but in the race the the fuel changes the tires change and its not good in the second half of the race. A good driver needs to know what it will take to make the car good all through the race" Nikki is the Man.
I hope we get a Nikki Lauda Pack with a 70's F1
Looking at the 97T main gauges shows us exactly how much boost the 80's Turbo Era F1 is making. 4.5 Bar is a crap load of boost, equivalent to 65psi :O
