(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I now have a different approach to modding GT6 available to use. The technique will only be available to CFW and will never work for OFW. (had to get that out of the way)

The disadvantage of these methods is the tool will have to be running the whole time you are using mods done by it. The advantage is almost anything you can think of becomes possible. Yes, including real engine swaps. Speaking of engine swaps I was wrong in thinking they shared the same ID as the body. They have separate IDs in the data base but the ID is still looked up using the body ID.

So far I can put any set of wheels from one car to any other ie: I put the 787b wheels on a RX8 as well as putting the tank car engine into the same car. The brake rotors stuck through the rims so I didn't take a picture.

But this is not limited to hybriding, there are also track mods, lobby mods, weather, etc.

The issue is this. It takes a huge amount of time for me to set up. It won't with a tool but the research is so time consuming I am still using 1.08 so I don't have to start over.

For those that understand I am doing RPC and well as PPC modifications.

So what direction would you guys like me to take this? I have never released any track loading stuff because I thought JK was eventually going to release something. I did not do weather or gravity like things as Kappa said he wanted to focus on those. Red-Eye as well as others are working on save file decoding. Someone else is looking into dumping the database but I have told them I also may do that. I think it is wrong to duplicate other peoples work, so I did not even research those areas. But I do not know if they are still working on those things any more. Others have also mentioned they were working on unlocking stuff such as licenses and paint chips, so that was a no go for me.

Considering the above paragraph what would you guys like to see me work on?

BTW: this is why a kept putting off the replay reader, this sort of thing just interests me more.

I truly hope you are joking.

I would rather put my dick in a hornet's nest than help the COD community. The way they treat those that actually know what they are doing is shameful.

Besides COD is the easiest game for the PS3 to hack. It still runs on the Quake III engine from 1999 and the same hacks still work. I have a young daughter that can find the codes when a update comes out because they just move, but she is not up to finding new stuff yet and My little Pony is more interesting to her. There just is no challenge there, it's fine for beginners to hack that game or if you still enjoy playing it.

Here people pretty much respect each other for the most part. There are a few guys here that used my tool to help them find things with a debugger and they have the decency to keep it to themselves. In COD they would of posted everything they could just for the rep, we would have 100 poorly written apps all doing the same thing and I would have moved on to something else.

No COD makes that hornet's nest idea look pretty good thank you.

You should try to add a way to decrease the cars weight instead of using incompatible chassis swaps. That way cars won't have tires sticking out awkwardly. This will allow people to create faster accelerating cars that usually could only have their weight decreased to a certain amount, this will also create more nimble handling for the heavier cars of the game.

This can already be done by using weight reduction from other cars. Did you know that your car actually floats away if you get the weight too low? It starts bouncing all over first so I think it might just be a huge bounce, I have to remember to try that on the track. Too low also messes with the physics in the game as the weight on the tire is part of the grip calculation.

I am error
Hey man firstly I think what you are doing is Great!!! Its good to know you are not copying others work and are trying to better the gasme in your own way!
Secondly, I'd like to see parts swap.. so I can put R34 GTR front Bumper,Lights and Front Fenders on a R32 GTst. You see what I mean..
GThat would be sooooo cool. So its like designing the look of our cars custom and not just lowering them and adding mags lol
Thanks heaps buddy!!

I actually was joking because that's why you stopped updating your tool. I bought this game and I'm happy with the work shown here by you. Keep it up.

If we could swap bumpers and lights and fenders , exaust's etc would be just like Forza 4 mods but without 3D program to swap parts , Original rims swap is already just like Gran Turismo 4 but there we abble to do it without mods

Do a barrel roll!
Sounds great, FarSideX.

What is possible in terms of the track mods? Can you change the configuration, add weather / 24hr cycle to tracks that don't have these by default?

I'm sure whichever direction you decide to take will be awesome Smile

I just found the timer freeze offsets (You must login or register to view this content.) :p
I still have weather and lighting data from 1.05
Gravity (for the most part) was a swing and a miss :(

Would be nice to see lap modifiers (turn any race into an endurance event or 1-lap finish).

Finally fixed the progressbar btw
Thanks again for the advice Smile

Woah, looks cool @Kappa. Time freeze could be useful to get gold on all licences.

@FarSideX, any chances we could get a screenie of the wheel swaps ? Smile
