(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I now have a different approach to modding GT6 available to use. The technique will only be available to CFW and will never work for OFW. (had to get that out of the way)

The disadvantage of these methods is the tool will have to be running the whole time you are using mods done by it. The advantage is almost anything you can think of becomes possible. Yes, including real engine swaps. Speaking of engine swaps I was wrong in thinking they shared the same ID as the body. They have separate IDs in the data base but the ID is still looked up using the body ID.

So far I can put any set of wheels from one car to any other ie: I put the 787b wheels on a RX8 as well as putting the tank car engine into the same car. The brake rotors stuck through the rims so I didn't take a picture.

But this is not limited to hybriding, there are also track mods, lobby mods, weather, etc.

The issue is this. It takes a huge amount of time for me to set up. It won't with a tool but the research is so time consuming I am still using 1.08 so I don't have to start over.

For those that understand I am doing RPC and well as PPC modifications.

So what direction would you guys like me to take this? I have never released any track loading stuff because I thought JK was eventually going to release something. I did not do weather or gravity like things as Kappa said he wanted to focus on those. Red-Eye as well as others are working on save file decoding. Someone else is looking into dumping the database but I have told them I also may do that. I think it is wrong to duplicate other peoples work, so I did not even research those areas. But I do not know if they are still working on those things any more. Others have also mentioned they were working on unlocking stuff such as licenses and paint chips, so that was a no go for me.

Considering the above paragraph what would you guys like to see me work on?

BTW: this is why a kept putting off the replay reader, this sort of thing just interests me more.

Something that allows us to swap stock rims would be amazing. There's some stock rims that are nicer than the custom ones. I'd love to see a hybrid tool with that stuff.

You said that these only work with the tool running, what would happen if you closed the tool or moved the save to an OFW ps3? Would they just reset?

Yes they will just reset. It is done by calling the function that loads the wheels with the body_ID in r3. Once you take that away the next time the game references the wheels it does so with the correct body_id so it reverts. So as I stated it is for CFW only.

It is like the method I suggest you use to unlock all the paint chips, but doing that would write them to the save. Part swaps of this nature require constant updating and would not be visible to others in on line lobbies.

Ahhh okay. So when I asked awhile back about swapping specific body parts like the racing exhaust model from a CTS-V onto a different car or taking a custom rear wing from one car and putting it on a different one, that could be done this way?

Farside this sounds amazing True story I would love to see some kind of lobby mods like being able to make custom tracks (This probably won't happenEnzo ) But i think being able to set up tracks such as the karting circuit (One without track, just a room with cones) That would be so fun to mess around on Happy Also great work on your H.E Not Bad

Yes it should be possible, only the entry point to the function that loads the part and its parameters need to be found. That is the time consuming part, it is quite simple to do though, and why I say a direction of what you want to do is required. Also part swapping would require the placement to be adjusted to look correct as the function call thinks it is placing it at the correct location. In the case of wheels it places them according to the chassis in use but I can see issues with things like wings. I'll try it out in the debugger and post some pics.

I guess the change for me is I have most of the data classes reversed and I am now working on the PowerPC code. I have enough of the functions documented that I can start changing the game through code changes rather than data changes. And I have enough functions of each area of the game done that pursuing one of them is just a choice of where I focus my attention.

Are you high?
I just really want to be able to remove bumpers and hoods. I've only seen a few people with removed bumpers, but it's always on the S15 silvia.

OP : A tool where you could swap stock rims onto other cars would be amazing. There's a few rims I wish I could put on some of my cars.
