European and UK customers are normally quite used to be shafted with the currently exchange rates on games, with prices that magically multiply their prices due to US Dollars being converted into Euros one-to-one, and very weird rates used for the conversion into British Pounds.

Normally, though, a one-to-one exchange rate is not used between US Dollars and British Pounds, since £1 officially translates into $1.71, and an artificial one-to-one conversion would nearly double a game’s price.

Unfortunately whoever decided the UK price for Destiny (the Ghost Edition is exclusive to the retailer You must login or register to view this content. in the Queen’s domains) thought it was a good idea to apply a one-to-one exchange, resulting in an absolutely crazy price of £149,99, which translates into $256.96.

Things are just a little better with the You must login or register to view this content., priced £94.99 (it’s $99.99 in the US) and converting into a slightly (very slightly) less crazy $163.

Granted, the contents of the Ghost Edition are definitely rich, but we’re talking about paying over 250 bucks here. That goes a tad overboard, no matter how you look at it. Scratch that: “bloody hindering awkward” probably describes this better.
