Activision's Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg gave us some Insight on Destiny‘s beta and on the changes we can expect from here to release in a financial conference call with the company. Hirshberg mentioned that the beta was very successful “both creatively and technologically, the biggest beta for this generation of consoles and the biggest beta ever for a new IP.” Everything was as expected, and the servers held up fine.

Bungie mentioned that the feedback was mostly positive, and they have picked up on minor issues that they will tweak for official release. Hirshberg mentioned that because of this, we shouldn't expect any major changes for the game when it releases and only tweaks will be mode.

"But I would describe this as tweaks and not major changes, as we saw the fundamentals of the game to be very strong. And the good news is because we got 4.6 million players into the beta we were able to test the back-end in scale and it performed really well and stably."

"We think we’re ready for a great launch with a great partner in Bungie."

I'm a bit saddened by this, quite a few things I wanted added onto the full game. They will probably release DLC and patches/updates for the small requests fans put out. To be fair...it was an amazing beta.

TBH I thought the beta was great. I had plenty of fun playing it with my brother just going around killing enemies throughout the story... Also wished the level cap was higher instead of 8; But I'll just wait till release. Smile All in all, Great game.

I'm sure there will be nerfs and tweaks throughout updates later.

Hopefully we can expect some nice DLC where they add in what players want. Ultimately the money made from games is from DLC so I'm sure we'll get a lot nice additions.
