Vu Bui, the Chief Operating Officer of Mojang, confirmed on You must login or register to view this content. that there will be no MineCon in 2014. Instead, Bui said that they are "shooting to have" the next MineCon in the spring of 2015 in London.

If you aren’t familiar with Minecon, it’s the convention that Mojang has hosted every year since 2010 – except this year. MineCon is an annual Minecraft convention held by Mojang AB. The popular Minecon event began back in 2010 in Washington State and Las Vegas the following year before moving to Paris. France in 2012 and into Orlando, Florida for 2013. Bui also assured future attendees that as soon as they’ve secured a venue and date, the company would release the information.

Minecon started off as a community organized event with as little as 50 in attendance and has since grown to host over 750,000 people.
