I've been doing this for about 3 hours non-consecutively, and have 5 Legendary engrams. Obviously the whole loot system is RNG, so keep that in mind.

Personally, I don't like going as far back as he/she did in the video. IMO: It's better to stay at the edge of the little opening/plaza thing by the door. (Near the rocks)

The best part about this is that when you go to decrypt, and come back to go again, you start right next to the door

(Auto-Rifle Recommended)

Edit: Remember to go for headshots! It's also a good tactic to switch to the subclass you don't normally use, to give you a bit of free leveling ^^
