Post: Is Destiny going to last?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So the title says it all. Is Destiny going to last like a true MMO? If you look at an MMO like Warcraft or EVE Online, they have been around for 10+ years. Destiny is supposed to be an MMO style game. Do you think Bungie is going to keep coming up with enough content to last like a true MMO?

My answer: No. Not all in one game. I think Destiny (The game we are all playing right now) will last 2 maybe 3 years, and then Bungie will release a "new" game. It'd still be Destiny (we could import our characters, stats, weapons, etc) but you wouldn't be able to access the current storyline on this new game, only the new one. Kind of like a Disc One/Disc Two thing. Once you finish up to a certain point, switch games and continue on the next one.

I hope I'm wrong. I'd like to keep it all in one game, but there just isn't enough content right now. In order for it to be a true MMO, Bungie needs to roll out some lasting stuff. Where player actions affect the in-game world. That way there would always be something to do.

Ok, so let's put this to bed. If you believe this to be some way of avoiding your confrontations, i'll gladly go back over your latest reply and repeat what has been going on for too long now, but what end-game do you see arising from this? I can't see anything of worth to either of us besides an ego boost, which I needn't care for, so if you'd like to take it as a worthless victory, feel free to do so. (i'm not implying that that is what you're after - I do not intend for any insults in this post)

What compelled you to go overkill on my reply to the thread topic? I'm genuinely curious as you what went through your mind. What did you set out to accomplish?

I just ask that you answer that question. If you feel like anything on my part needs clearing up - fire away and we can be done with this pointless dispute - Lets BOTH stop acting immaturely; just be straight up and to the point.

I'll only respond to you if there is a genuine question/query that you request be cleared up or something similar to that, the argument can morph into a constructive debate rather than pointless bickering, or if you straight-up insist that we start repeating what we've been doing. Otherwise i'm stepping down.

i believe destiny will last, i think I'm the only person who doesn't have any problems with the game, i work full time so i only get to play for a few hours a night but when i do the game is very enjoyable, I'm a level 25 hunter but going to start working on other characters soon just so i have 3 different types i can switch between when i feel like it.

I was seeking an answer about why some people think Destiny is gonna be a great / better game (imply or hint) based on what Bungie had said. That's why I went overkill because honestly, I highly doubt Bungie will do what they said. Maybe they will, but I don't think it will make the game better *dramatically* because of the way how it's designed.

And yeah, we are done. There's no point to argue furthermore. I apologize all for the wasted time arguing. Let's put it to rest and move on, I guess.

I got bored around the second to last post on the second page of this thread. Your argument was very entertaining, lol.
