Preamble
I recently installed Lightboost on my Asus VG248QE and oh my God, it's amazing. Granted Lightboost requires you to run your panel at 120Hz, it's still far superior compared to 144Hz non-Lightboost. Installation was incredibly easy, so if you have a panel capable of running Lightboost I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. If for whatever reason you don't like it, uninstalling Lightboost is also easy.
Basic Installation
As you can see in my Nvidia Control Panel when you install Lightboost you have to choose between a strobed refresh rate, and a non-strobed refresh rate. You can also choose up to four, however I went with the 120Hz strobed, and 144Hz non-strobed.

After you install Lightboost there are keyboard shortcuts you can use to swap between the various levels of brightness, or you can use the tool in the system tray. For the best performance from Lightboost it's recommended to run at 10%, however at anytime you can revert to a non-strobed refresh rate for normal internet browsing and so forth.

Review and Opinions, and Verdict
I will admit, when you're running at 10% there is a noticeable darkness that overwhelms the panel. As noticeable as it is, you can still see quite well in Counter Strike. I also noticed it seems like you need to run games in a borderless windowed mode in order to see the effects of Lightboost as for some reason fullscreen doesn't work with it.
I'm sure there are some programs out there that will force Counter Strike to inherit the desktop settings while letting you run in fullscreen. However I'm unsure if those programs are legal in terms of league rules such as ESEA, CEVO, and even VAC approved.
Other than the darkness I have to admit that Lightboost definitely puts certain panels in a closer comparison to CRTs, but isn't exactly like what you'd see on a CRT. Another thing that I noticed at first is that I was a bit flicker sensitive and it did make me feel a bit queasy. I've since gotten used to the flicker and it's almost unnoticeable once your eyes adapt to it. The final verdict, if you have a panel capable of using Lightboost, do it. Even if you come to hate it you can at anytime uninstall and be done with it.
