If I had known what rewards the different bounties gave I probably would not have picked the one I did the first time since this was a Hand Cannon bounty and I don't really use them at all. Now Ive done all available so I made a list, with some help of google, so others might choose better bounties for themselves. Exotic bounties are special, high level Bounties. Exotic bounties are multiple-stage, posing a series of challenges to the player before completion.

Exotic bounties are occasionally revealed and made available to high-level players cashing in standard Bounties. Players are shown a preview of three gold-colored bounties and allowed to select one.

Exotic bounties require the fulfillment of multiple conditions to complete. Once a bounty condition is fulfilled, a new condition is revealed.

A DUBIOUS TASK (Reward: INVECTIVE Shotgun)

Complete 5 strikes of any difficulty without dying.
Fight in the Crucible and achieve 25 more kills than deaths.
Complete the Weekly Heroic Strike.
Trade 50 special weapon ammo packs to the Gunsmith for the Invective component.

A LIGHT IN THE DARK (Reward: THORN Handgun)

Complete The Summoning Pits on the moon.
Kill 500 Hive enemies on the Moon.
Kill Guardians in the Crucible using void damage
Buy an Infusion of Light from the Speaker for 1 Mote of Light.
Defeat Xyor, the Unwed in a special level 26 version of the Summoning Pits strike on the moon

AN UNKNOWN PATRON (Reward: FATE OF ALL FOOLS Scout Rifle)

This bounty is not obtainable at this moment.

Win 5 crucible matches
Complete feats of skill in the Crucible
Buy Osiris Coins using Motes of Light and then compete in the Trials of Osiris
Compete in the Crucible and perform a set number of kills, headshots, and killing sprees with a scout rifle

A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS (Reward: SUPER GOOD ADVICE Machine Gun)

Search chests on mars for A Mournful Gun
Bring the frame to the Gunsmith
Buy an ammunition module from Xur for 1 strange coin
Kill 500 enemies with a machine gun.

SHATTERED MEMORY FRAGMENT (Reward: POCKET INFINTY Fusion Rifle)

Locate the damage Ghost on Venus in the Shattered Coast
Complete the Eye of a Gate Lord story on Heroic
Dismantle 10 rare or higher quality Fusion Rifles
Enter a Weekly Nightfall Strike and kill enemies with a Fusion Rifle

TOLAND’S LEGACY (Reward: Bad Juju Pulse Rifle)

Complete a heroic or epic strike.
Complete 25 strikes of any difficulty level.
Buy a darkness-infused weapon frame from Xur for 1 strange coin
Fight in the Crucible and obtain 10,000 points and have a kill to death ratio above 1-1

HOUSE OF WOLVES BOUNTIES

The Elder Cipher is acquired in level 34 & 35 Prison of Elders and has a chance to drop after defeating the final boss. It won’t drop on the level 28 or 32 difficulties. I myself got 2 from defeating Skolas, Ive seen it dropped on the 34 difficulty. Make sure you have space for the bounty in your bounties section.

After choosing the weapon, you’ll need to acquire the Queen’s Cipher. You do this by completing the Prison of Elders and opening the chest at the very end with a Treasure Key.
You need to do this on a challenge difficulty, it’s not a guaranteed drop. You can find this on the level 32, 34, or 35.
If you need another Treasure Key, and have already completed the story missions on each character, you can get one from:

Ether Chests (Defeat Wolves on Earth, Venus or Moon)
Turning in Wanted Bounties to Petra
Small chests in the PoE Treasure room

Go back to Variks. He will give you The Elder Cipher, and at this point, you’ll just have to wait. The waiting period is not the same for everyone. Once the Cipher is ready you can go back to Variks and pick up The Elder Cipher. He’ll tell you that defeating enemies in the Arena is the only way to fix it. You will need to get 1,000 points.

Level 28 bosses, or any non-challenge final boss, are worth 75 points each.
Level 32 final boss is worth 250 points.
Level 34 final boss is worth 350 points.
Level 35 Skolas is worth 450 points per kill + 75 from the Pilot Servitor.

The Elder Cipher is rewarded after acquiring the points, and now you’ll be able to once again confirm the Exotic weapon that you want. Choose either LORD OF WOLVES (Shotgun), DREGS PROMISE (Sidearm) or QUEENBREAKERS BOW (Fusion Rifle).

No one knows for sure tbh. Its a chance everytime you turn in a bounty. I have got them from vanguard bounties, crucible bounties, and even an iron banner bounty. So keep doin bounties and good luck!

I have the bounty of the hand cannon and i have to kill 500 in the crucible using void damge -2 if i died all i know whats void damge and whats the better void damge weapon

Void Damage is elemental damage type that will do double damage against enemies with purple shields. Weapons that deal Void damage has a purple spiral next to them when you look at them in the armory. Of the special weapons it it many shotguns that deal Void damage, also some snipers and fusion rifles, there is also heavy weapons and rocket launchers that deal void damage. I myself used THE COMEDIAN shotgun and DEVIANT GRAVITY-A machine gun to complete this bounty. Good luck to you on completing this bounty
