On Minecraft Console edition (PS3/ps4/xbox360/xbox1) all chunks u visit remain semi loaded untill u restart the game.
If u restart the game just visit the iron farm and it will be loaded again.
doesn't matter where u build it.

If you realy want to build in spawn chunks just use a compas.
It points directly on true spawn.
You can check the spawn chunk perimeter with a bucket of lava.
(you can't place lava at true spawn)
