You sure it isn't your video cords? AVJacks? HDMI?

Is this the first time your PS3 has "bricked" (frozen)?
Is this a new console?

One thing you could try is a safe mode reset.

To do this what you need to do is turn the PlayStation 3 off so it is on standby (red light on front). Once the PlayStation is in standby, press and hold down the power button for 3 beeps, this should take approx 15 seconds, this will turn the console back off to standby.

After you do this again you will need to hold down the power button, the second you put your finger on the button to will beep, about 8 seconds later it will beep a second time and just after that it will do a double beep. Once the double beep happens a message should come up on the screen saying "please insert controller and press PS button". Once you do this 6 options should come up on the screen, the best option to use here is option 5 although it does wipe the HDD as well it should fix your problem.

If this doesnt work I would advise calling the support centre.
