Look into buying a Tera-byte for your external hard drive. They are actually pretty cheap some places such as Best Buy and Amazon.

You just named the two places drives are most expensive and one(best buy) that sucks withe everything.

That one I found has a lot of positive reviews and maybe you should take that into consideration. It's also 1TB and PS3/4 Compatible.
