(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi guys so today my cfw ps3 started overheating I'm seeing the cell temps go to about 79c this makes me worry. It's a original release console and never has been opened nor cleaned. I know it's overheating due to me having a Ylod ps3 that's on 3.55 and it showed the same symptoms before it ended its life. Anyways I'm debating whether or not I should open it up and replace the thermal paste I'm not gonna use a heat gun or anything just replace the thermal paste. I'm wondering if you guys think this is a good idea or not because usually once you open electronics they usually aren't ever the same . Let me know your opinion thanks.

replacing the thermal paste is a good bet, just be careful when taking it apart not to damage any wires or components. My ps3 has been opened multiple times and it plays now better than it ever has. Try using something like PS3ita to up the speed on your fan, mine stays cool but its loud at times because I did a fan soft and hard mod.
