Is it a CFW ps3? or OFW? I would of recommended new thermal paste, but you already tried that, possibly a fan or HDD issue?

Did the same, except my fan kicks in when im on a game, i have changed my thermal paste but now the cpu is same as before but the rsx? rises even hotter, mines on cfw. even bought myself a laptop fan a 20cm one that it sits on, no use really.

@ogin When you put new thermal past the fan make loud initially, it's normal. You are on cfw so install control fan utility or webman with dynamic fan control to avoid Ylod and set max 65° and the minimum speed 29-30%.
Switch to a cobra cfw like Habib 4.66 or Rebug 4.65 (they have Cobra 7.0.3 so the temperatures are low) to install webMAN, or if you have a normal cfw install vsh loader to install webman that is much better than control fan.

Yeah I have rebug 4.65 and control fan but the control fan doesn't save the settings when I reboot my ps3 I'm using the game sonic one and I have webman installed. What can I do about this ? Thanks for the reply

Enable Dynamic Fan Control in webman setup, then click save and click restart, once it is restarted go again into setup and click refresh XML and restart. Don't use the control fan of gamesonic, and I suggest you to use multiman, it is better than gamesonic (it's an advice, do as you please)
Anyway while you playing go into xmb with PS button and push select+r3 to check the temperature or in webman setup

my ps3 slim is loud sometimes someone did all the work for me and on this ps3 told me dont change fan settings he has it perfect well he has irisman installed and thats how he has the fan settings setup its a hombrew app backup manager webamn mod in stalled but not controlling the fan its unchecked in webman settings the info in irisman at the top it says Fan Settings And USB Wakeop Current Payload on the normal even at xmb after a few minutes the fans get a little loud in game fan is at 70 percent really loud by then and on the nromal even at just the xmb CPU temp is in between 70 and 78 degrees Celsius and the RSX is in between mid 50s to mid 60's i am seeing every including from the making of the irismanager not use it to control fan use webman mod but dont know how to disable it in irisman and make it use webman or if i wanted to use the same payload again how to change it back in irisman and supposedly if people want to know about the thermal paste deal i bought this ps3 3months ago and the person recieved my money said he bought it refurbished from gamestop came home cleaned it refurbished it again himself downgraded it with E3 flasher jailbroke it put cfw Rebug 4.70.1 DEX on it and used he said a high dollar Artic Silver Thermal Paste on it so actually i got the ps3 less than 3 months ago so the paste if done right ny him was done properly i dont think that is a problem can someone please help me on how to change and fix this and how to possibly upgrade hard drive and reinstall same exact firmware and re install my backed up games and homebrew apps please thank you i dont want my ps3 to mess up that i bought for me and my son please what is best way to do this stuff whats best fan settings on CECH 2501A Slim Console usung webman add me also on skype if it makes it easier skype name jwgraziano83 need help majprly and first if you can meeaage me on here first and when you add me on skype mention who you are and if your trying to help me so much spam now days thanks sincerely REAL
