So my wife pulled the cord out the back and since that night it wint read any disc i put in it. I have 2 backup system's but i really want to get dis one back working. Please help me.

Try this go to Settings> System Settings> Default settings. If that doesn't work try removing any disk from the drive and turn it off. Now press and hold the On/Off until you get the first beep, a second one and then a double beep. Now you'll see a menu, select the 3rd option and see if that fixes your issue.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank I tried all that and still it's not reading

It read the disc just now but when I quit the game I now have a black screen.

Maybe try the 4th option in Safe mode.

If Jesse's recommendations don't work for you, your bluray laser is most likely taking a dump. It can cause freezing and if it wasn't shutting off for you in the beginning, that sounds like it may have been what was happening..


You say you have spare ps3s. If it is worth it to you, maybe you can try another known working disc drive if you have one of a compatible model..to at least rule it out..if it is a fat make sure to keep the original logic board with the console it came with.


If you want to avoid that, you could try reinstalling your firmware, check your debug settings and try other games. reformat your hdd and/or if none of that fixes it, you should be able to take a pretty good guess that your disc drive is bad..
