Before my ps3 was CPU: 64 RSX: 67 now its getting to CPU: 69 and and RSX: 70 and my webman dynamic fan gets the ps3 fan sometimes to 70% now my ps3 is on XMB and its CPU: 70 and RSX: 66 so what should I do with the dynamic fan its set to 70C max should I set it to 75? or more if anyone knows the fix for this please help me .

You should've put this in the questions section...

To answer your question, you put on too much thermal paste, you only need a small grain of rice sized thermal paste application... Also if you are really concerned go buy an ez chill board and install it...

Do a barrel roll!
As 1337Forensics said, you don't want to put too much paste on because you don't want it to spill over and possibly ruin other components. A pea sized amount is fine. If possible, put your PS3 next to a fan to keep the air circulating. That should bring the temperature down 2 or 3 degrees.

MX4 should be fine if you're concerned about using silver 5s conductive properties...

I hope it is ok that I am using this thread to question the following:
I have a ps3 slim running on rebug 4.80 and the temperature of the cpu is constantly near 80°C and the thing is very loud. So I stopped playing with it for months and started now again and wanted to solve this problem.
So I changed the paste (MX4) and the problem was not solved. The RSX's temperature is fine, but the CPU's not.
I thought I made a mistake and changed the paste again but I didn't help. (I did a little research on how much paste and how to apply it, just a drop)

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

Is there a tool that give you the information about the temperature on your ps3 while playing (on all modes)?
I tried TempMON but it doesn't work on 4.80...

COD Recovery
Never apply any kind of liquid, any additional material in a machine, especially gaming consoles.
You will need a replacement fan, check with electrician, a wire may the problem.

He applied thermal paste to the CPU, harmless if applied correctly.

You should consider finding pkgs that could help, or modify the case to support another CPU fan.

It's probably just old. Or the game you are playing takes up to much CPU or RAM..

Thanks for your answers.

Do you have any ideas on which pkgs could help? I thought about buying such a notebook placement thing with a fan in it.

I guess it is old, that could be a problem. Otherwise I tried different games (Ni No Kuni, Final Fantasy IX (PS1), Yakuza 5, etc.), so I guess it has not really something to do with the games, because it is also loud and hot when just starting multiman.
