(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello Guys As The Title Says My PS3 Has YLOD :( Now Im Stuck With Where To Buy And What I Need To Reball The GPU/RSX Chips. I've Been Watching A Bunch Of Videos And Doing Research On How The Process Works, Which I Understand.. But I Dont Know What Kit To Buy? And Which Is The Best Place To Order The Kit? Is Ebay/Amazon A Good Recommendation? Also Is There A Certain Kit I Should Get, I Dont Know What To Exactly Look For When Choosing A Reball Kit. Which Is The Best Size Of Solder Balls To Use Etc?

I Found A kit On Ebay But IDK If Its Good or Not:

don't bother ...
you need someone used to soldering / reworking to reball

and all the cheap kits to a bad job...

to do it right you need a rework station that costs £500+

so you would need to send it to someone that has a reworking station and reballs

but that would cost you more then the console is worth so you might as well buy a new console

IMO this is a great opportunity to learn..If you want to learn, or plan on doing multiple ps3s, then go for it. You have a dead ps3, it can't get much worse, only better, or stay the same!

A rework station is like an open oven, or a big heat gun. This makes heating the entire surface easier and balanced and very technical. It will get the job done faster, easier, and more productively..

Although, it is not absolutely necessary. You can get by using a good heatgun..
According to the info on that kit, it will be perfect.

Look up some videos on how the process is done. It's not impossible.

that kit is cheap and yeah he won't get even heat with a heat gun... so it wont set right... but with a rework station it will attach back to the board well...

you can always try re flowing the cpu and gpu.. if you want .. all that needs is a heat gun and you just heat the chips up for a few mins and then re paste after but again that is 90% of the time not a permanent fix
