(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I have a ps3 on firmware 3.50 right now and considering im new to the PS3 modding scene I would like to know what I could do with it.
Now I have heard I could Jailbreak it, that basically means I can download games and play them from the hard drive right?? I really am confused what my ps3 is capable of at the minute.
Also how much is my ps3 worth compared to a updated ps3?
How would I go about jailbreaking it as well?

Please help Smile

But yea, basically you're download the 3.55 OFW. On a USB stick, create a folder named "PS3". Inside that, create one called "UPDATE". Paste your 3.55 OFW in there, make sure it is named "PS3UPDAT.PUP" (yes UPDAT, not UPDATE). Plug your USB into your PS3. Go to Settings>System Update>Update via Storage Media. It should recognize the update, install it when prompted. Once you have 3.55 OFW firmware installed, just repeat the same process as above with your CFW.

Hope I helped

So wait all I need is a usb stick to do this, so I can instantly go from OFW to CFW just by the click of a update button.

Im confused apparently I don't need to update to 3.55 OFW?

    1. Download KMEAW 3.55
It should look like this on your USB = PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
Code: [Check Download Links]

https://www.megaupload.com/?d=MUW489X4

2. If your FW is BELOW 3.55 simply go to system update and update as usual with the usb. Congratulations you are now running CFW.

Quote:
Note: If you are running 3.55 , Enter recovery mode and install the update.
1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

Technically you don't need to, but it's generally a good idea to avoid errors and such.

What type of errors could I get? Could it brick it?
I don't want to get 3.55ofw just in case it updates the one above it or something like that.
Also could you add me on msn and help tell me stuff I can do with my cfw.
