Post: HDD swap = fail?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've got a phat 40gb PS3, which i upgraded to 250GB.
The problem is that i havent made a backup or anything, and i need to get the saves back.
I dont mind soldering anything, since i'm not too bad with that.

When i plug in my 40GB hdd, after the swap, i get the corrupted file system message, and it tells me to format the hdd.
I should also add that i've tried to connect it to the pc via a SATA to USB adapter. I've nto done anything to the HDD in windows tho.. just connected it any unplugged it again..

If there is any way to still access the 40gb drive? I dont mind buying stuff off the net or whatever.. i've got really a ton of saves on there and trophies, which i cannot afford to lose :(

Both hdd's have 3.55 cfw on KMW.

Yes it is indeed.. does that mean all hope is gone? or is there a way.. doesn't have to be now per se.. maybe in the future? i mean do you think it's even possible?

Wow that sucks balls.. that's really helpful info dude! =)

When you say "dont worry u can get it back", do you mean that the HDD will work again? or that i can get the data back..
And i thought of another thing that MIGHT work.. what if i try to update to 3.70 or whatever.. would that work? I just don't wanna try it unless it doesn't, but at this stage I don't really have much to lose anyway..

Just have to find the right time to bring the news to the missus.. =/

If you have updated after the swop and the update is not the same then, yes you have lost all the stuff that's on your old 40GB HDD i have changed a few out before and this is a problem that I come to. All I can say is FIRST back up all the stuff you have on there first (the drive that's in there now), then put the old drive in and put it in recovery mode
. Try all the different menus, but i have never needed to recover data from and old drive. Hope it works out :(
