(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I realise this is probably going over old ground but I'm having issues trying to back this game and couldn't find any info that helps. I had read somewhere that all that was required was to install the official update for the game and this would remove the need for having pre 3.60 firmware?

This is what I did when backing up the game.

1) In Multiman 2.04 - I copied the game from the disc to an external HDD.
2) Then from Multiman, I downloaded the update patch.
3) I went back to XMB and installed the update pkg
4) I then went back in to Multiman, navigated to Mortal Kombat, held down Select and pressed X
5) Multiman asked if I wanted to change the PARAM thingy and I selected "Yes"
<back to XMB>
6) With a PS3 game disc in the drive, I try to load Mortal Kombat
7) The game tells me I must be at 3.60 firmware minimum to play this game.

Shit!

Cool Man (aka Tustin) So, I uninstall the game data for the update and try again.
9) This time the screen goes black for 3 seconds and returns me to the XMB with an error message.

So where did I go wrong here?

** This is a EUR version of the game btw.

I think MultiMan downloads the latest patch... that one has 3.60 keys I guess. Try and find update 1.01 on the net and install it manually. That should work. Good luck.

Thanks, I wondered if that might be the case and there had been a further update for MK.

I'll have a search and see what I can come up with. :y:

For 3.55 Install retail patch (it's in the pack).

Enjoy ! Just tested Kmeaw's 3.55 and it's working fine on external.

For 3.41 - UNTESTED

Download and replace eboot and sprx files with the originals

Thank you for the reply and the link, I'm sure that will be very handy.

I found an update to V1.02 (I think) in one of the other MK discussions, however that just resulted in an error code.

I will delete my original rip and all other game date & then I will try this one tonight with a fresh rip from the Blu-Ray.

Thanks, can you explain what is meant by "it's in the pack", what pack do you mean?

I'm using an original Mortal Kombat disc, you mean it's on the actual disc?

Sorry if that's a dumb question.

Just install the retail patch 1.01, in the download link I provided replace the EBOOT.BIN and DFENGINE.SPRX, use FTP server or Comgenie's File Manager to replace the files on the HDD in the game ID folder
