Post: Rsx chip messed up ps3?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I found a ps3 with a rsx chip on craigslist that isn't working properly, what is this? Is it fixable? If so how much should it cost. Thanks easy +rep for first replier that helped.

RSX is a graphic chip. (GPU). The PS3 GPU was based off the NVIDIA 7800GTX GPU, with changes.. I think It's hard to replace it, but theres a possibility. Are you sure you could not try reflowing the existing one? Try asking the owner if It's sticked to the motherboard, If so It's probably bricked. If not, you may just need to reflow it. But If I were you, I wouldn't buy it Smile

Well he says everything works its something to do with a graphic processor, idk if it reads disks
