You only can install CFW on a PS3 v3.55 or less. If it asks for 3.72 that means that 3.72 is already installed

You can't downgrade with a hard drive. You will need to get a whole new PS3 under 3.55 firmware in order to jailbreak it again.

This pretty much sums it up. You cannot downgrade without having a PS3 on 3.55 or doing hardware modifications.

i didnt get what you said. What is wrong with your phat ps3?
if it doesnt work what you can do is buy a new phat ps3 and just change the drive
if it isnt then upgrade via storage media then connect 1 ethernet cable to each ps3 and pass all of the
info in the phat ps3 to the slim (warning this will delete ALL of your data in the slim ps3)
