if brand new, i still think its 3.55, if used probably the latest firmware

Thats completely backwards...Sony sends their new ps3s to stores upgraded to the latest firmware.You might be able to find a used one that hasnt been updated.

really? i got a new 320 GB and it was on 3.55 but since i want online i had to update it

Im not saying you cant go to the store and buy a brand new one thats 3.55 or lower,what im saying is sony updates all ps3's before sending them out.You were lucky that the ps3 you bought was 3.55 it probably sat on the shelf for a while

Welcome to NGU, Changlow. It depends on the store, as you could find a store with PS3s on 3.55, and another with a PS3 on 3.72.
