so i have brought a new PS3 which has OFW. If i put a CFW on my old PS3 and use this to hack trohpies would i just be able to sync my tropies on my new PS3 or would i need to sync with the PS3 running CFW ?? i dnt have a problem doing this with CFW but could i get and ban ??

I dont know much about jailbreaking the PS3 so any advise would be very helpful

yes your old ps3 must be on 3.55 ofw or lower to be able to install cfw and after youve hacked your trophies you would have to update to the latest firmware to sign in to psn to sync your trophies so you would have them on your new ps3.
