I had the same Problem, you need to go into the PS3 recovery menu then Choose System Update and it will work.

i tried that and it didnt do anything it just restarted the ps3?

I did this yesterday, ok we start from the start, Install the OFW 3.55 Link Below

Install the Normal way, when this is done, put the CFW onto Usb and Install though recovery menu. Will take longer but give it time, It will work.

ok its on ofw 3.55, and when i tried it wouldnt even show up when i tried to update through xmb

How to Access Playstation Recovery Menu

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

ok i got it now, how i get the packages to work if my blueray drives broke

LOL, My bluray drive is also broken. You Dont need a bluray to Install PKG "packages". You can install PKG onto the ps3 and Play super nintendo games in the mean time
