Post: hey i got a huge 1.5 tg external hdd and it wont show on my ps3

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); iv tried everything. form changing it to a fat32, to making sepreate drives within the drives and nothing seems to work. if any body has any suggestions you wolud be a live saver. its a 1.5 western digital my book estenian

u have to format it to something like fat32 or something not sure looking up on youtube How to use my external Hdd on my Ps3 thats what i did Should help Merry Christmas!!

At least I can fight
Format it to FAT32 and once you've plugged it in your PS3 it will take longer than usual to show up due to the size, not like memory sticks where they show almost instantly.

As said, you need to format to fat32, but you cannot do that through the normal windows format tool. You can google and download a program to convert NTFS to fat32

ok i did no that it took long to show up i thought it was just the hdd. i will format it and leave it their and see if shows up. and what brand of is hdd

Ok, it will still show up if you partition it as well (Only the FAT32 partitions). I have my 2TB WD Ext HDD partitioned between FAT32 and NTFS since FAT32 will not hold any files larger than 4GB so I use the NTFS for 3D films and Blu-Ray ISO's.

so i need to format it ? i just took it down to ps3 not allowed over 32gb usb sticks.

sweet i can just convert it and i wont have to copy my films to a sparate usb any more ?

i got it guys. the prob was that i had a pass word on it and had to get rid of it so it works now and backing up bo

at last, somebody who knows what there talking about. everybody overlooks the 4gb limit.
