if its on 3.55 it will restore to 3.55 ofw if its on 4.00 it will restore 2 4.00 sony aren't that dumb. plus when you restore your ps3 it restores it to the firmware that was last on the nand

On the ps3 it says it will restore the software to it's standards, did anyone try it yet ?

well what ever firmware ur ps3 is on it will be restored on that firmware
