Also, no hacking easily unless you get a cfw ps3.
My bad, I knew that. I guess I should have said Sony or Microsoft as I was asking about both. I'm managing some save mods with Xbox but Ps3 has just seemed like too involved of a process for me to commit too.
I'm still unclear about something. If I go ahead and change firmware... Does Sony automatically update your firmware if you are connected to the internet? Will I need to leave my PS3 offline?
Personally, I I like the more expansive games but get tired of the grind quickly. I can understand wanting to keep it out of the online gameplay to a degree but I'd like to have the control I was used to with the old systems. Seriously, with Skyrim out now I've taken a hard look at building a gaming PC so that I can say goodbye to consoles and enjoy my games to the fullest. Designers need to understand how adding some level of player manipulation to the game can make it a more rewarding experience. A perfect example is Borderlands, I typically wouldn't have given this game 6 hours of play but I've logged more hours in it than anything else on this gen of consoles. The only thing that kept me there was the customization using tools like Willowtree.
A game like Forza on the other hand.... I will never own another Forza game because of the overzealous banning of the game's creators and I purchased the Xbox only to play that game. I'm a diehard driving sim player, I purchased the GT5 collector edition the day it came out- payed it for about a week and got tired of the grind. Its been collecting dust since.
Anyway, there is my rant. I don't know if any designers out there are listening but please make games fun again. And Turn 10- you really suck, I don't want to feel like I'm being watched and policed when I play a game. It stands against the very reason I put the disc in the console in the first place.
