Besides that, If your ps3 is on Official Firmware 4.0, you need to downgrade your ps3 to 3.55 in order to install custom firmware(jailbreak) on your ps3, and then be able to put patches on your ps3.

Downgrading your ps3 isn't simply a matter of downloading a custom firmware online and putting it in your ps3, you would have to buy a downgrade device like progskeet or an E3 Flasher. Cheaper devices $20-$50 require alot of soldering and I honestly dont think you are capable of doing anything like that yet. The E3 Flasher is solderless but is anywhere from $60-$100.

In summary, I believe that you should spend alot of time doing research on this sort of thing before even considering modifying your ps3.

No one really feels like typing all this out, so I'll try to give you a quick summary. So basically to mad any game you need a PlayStation on 3.55 or below, also a second playstation to take the mods online. The only main game I know that doesn't require this is COD4. Like they said you could always downgrade but that's a pain in the ass and not worth it. So if its important enough to find another ps3 that's on 3.55, then we will help you with the rest, but for now this is all you need to know.

ok soon my brothers buying a jailbroken ps3 il see what that one is but i need 2 playstations no matter what?Or your saying buy one thats 3.55 or under =2 ps3s?

Well if you want to host online you need two, one on 3.55, one on 4.0/ whatever the newest firmware is.

he said its running 3.55 the usb hardrive he has dl games on it 150 gig it wont play bootlegs though?

hey i just thought of something you said 3.55 or lower?Well what if an update came out like EX... 4.55 then my system is 4.0 still will that work cus then i wont need 2 systems?
