Post: E3 Flasher/Progskeet question

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So ive got a CFW and 2 OFW consoles working just fine, however i have another thats been sitting in the corner gathering dust as its caught in an update loop (bricked)
As soon as i turn it on it doesnt allow me to get to the XMB, it goes directly into trying to complete an update but never completes. This was due to being connected to the internet via wireless and at the time while i was updating to 3.60 i didnt realise that my connection was strained during this operation (65% wireless connection)
Ive learnt a valuable lesson from this and now update via usb everytime as this i believe caused the brick and ive tried many a method to fix it from pulling out the HDD to removing the battery all in vain. I can access the recovery menu but it will not recognise any pup file update from a usb, it just sits there and says "checking please wait"......

So my question is, seeing that E3 can flash firmware directly to the nor is there any hope it can unbrick this console ? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as im wondering if itll be clear cut black and white not a problem or will i hit alot of unforseeable snags.

I cant speak on E3 but progskeet is what I do have...... I have successfully fix/downgrade atleast 3 update loop PS3 due to bluray issue or etc. As long as you due a proper dump and check the dump files to ps3devwiki files you will be able to unbrick your PS3....... let me kno i try n help you the best I can

Thanks alot Gab, i havent bought Progskeet or E3 yet and Progskeet kinda scares me as ive never soldered anything to a board before lol but thankyou for the response i appreciate it and if i do purchase one ill certainly let you know. By the way how did you dump the bios on bricked consoles if you cant acess any of the menus (noob question i know) or is it dumped onto a flashdrive and stored to a pc ?

i understand i feel the same way bout clips i rather solder it seem more secure but to each's own.the question u ask as more related to e3 but as far as dumping with progskeet you have 2 options......if your ps3 stuck in the loop all you do is
put the r7 switch to the "OFF" position
power on the ps3 and wait for 20-25 seconds,
put the r7 switch to the "ON" position, so progskeet is powered and will be recognized by the PC.
Now you dump.
if the ps3 is bricked turns on than right off
bridge r8
r7 switch to off position
press the dump button
than power on ps3
i know all i said seem complex but it sounds harder than it seems plus the support forum is always willing to help

E3 FLASHER LIMITED
Repaire method if console bricked
Restore the backup bios to your PS3 if ps3 bricked on 3.73fw, you need restore the 3.73 bios
If ps3 bricked on 3.55fw, you need restore the 3.55 bios
1: Solder 1 wire as following picture showes, connect SBE point on E3 softboard to PA0 point which on PS3 mainboard. No need remove this wire in future.
You must login or register to view this content.
2: Copy the correct bios into TF card, and install on E3 flasher. (please note file name should be correct, assure name is same when you backup)
3: Unplug ps3 power cable to turn off ps3, set E3 switches as following showes.
4: Turn on PS3 and press START on e3, then the 8 LED will light one by one, the LED will blink if restore successfully.

5: Unplug ps3 power cable to turn off PS3, set Flash Fun down to PS3 MODE, and then turn on ps3, the system should be the correct fw before console bricked.
PS: To switch FLASH FUN and PS3 MODE, you must set E3 when PS3 unplug power cable status, and then turn on ps3, otherwise will fail.

You would need to solder either way, your best bet would probably be progskeet. I have an E3 Flasher and it keeps failing to backup my 4.00 bios, even though I can still use my ps3 :(
