(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hi guys

So I have a pretty simple question, how does the downgrade via Progskeet or E3 work? Does it wipe everything clean off the harddrive? And about how long does it take? Is it pretty simple to do as well?

I've researched and watched videos and such but no one really gives any real information, just commentary on what they are doing, so I would appreciate any help you guys can give.

Thanks

From what I read I know, is that if you have a slim, you don't need to solder anything, because it comes with a NOR clip that you use to hook it all up, once you get it all installed and set-up, and have the dock for your SATA drives, you can use that to do the dual-boot, you HAVE to have two seperate Hard-drives, one for your 3.55CFW and the other one for your 4.00OFW, now the steps to do this are on youtube somewhere I'm sure of that much, but given as I don't have one I can't say anymore than that, because i don't want to be responsible for any wrong information. So hope that helps a bit, but do let me know how the downgrade and upgrade process goes for you, I would appreciate the insight.

Thanks

I got progskeet so I shall speak on that.......... yes progskeet erase everything on the hardrive. "i have a nor unsure about nand" I personally use two harddrives one for ofw and one for cfw. The flashing part take me 3 to 8 mins. The whole process from flashing to playing is about 20 mins tops. Some people fear soldering and some people fear clips so if you know how to solder its easy and more secure. Upgrade and downgrading is easy....... 1 flash nor 2 put ps3 into service mode 3 flash 3.55 firmware using usb drive 4 exit service mode 5 install multiman and play

Can I ask one more question, why Progskeet over E3? any particular reason, because what I can gather is that Progskeet works really well but the only thing that stops people from getting it is the soldering part, in your opinion do you think its better than E3, in terms of how well the process works, and less chances of bricking? I think I would probably get E3 because of the soldering part, I haven't solder anything ever ha so the clip would work for me.

I went with progskeet is that reason exactly. I was going to get e3 before they went solder-less. Don't get me wrong e3 is a great product but solder-less aka clips don't seem reliable to me personally. Make sure you press the clip firm, lined up right, use tape and etc plus if you brick your ps3 you have to solder anyway. I think it better than e3 as its universal downgrade method nor and nand ps3 wii and 360 etc but as far as the ps3 downgrading goes there no clear cut winner they both do wat ask. Yes i believe you run into a less chance bricking if you solder. I can almost say for sure. If you solder and its done right you are likely to have a perfect dump each and every time 99% of the time but hey that my personally opinion. I would recommend the e3 also if you never solder. Just make sure its lined up, firm into place and a lil bit of tape your good to go.

yeah I'm gonna go with E3 because of that, but yeah the whole taping thing and having to solder when it bricks makes me a little cautious, but if you ever decide to sell that solder progskeet ps3 let me know ha, and i really gotta learn to solder. alright anyways thanks for the info
