(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have followed all of the steps up till when I need to put in two files (The lv2diag.self and the CFW file in the USB).

When I run my PS3 the red DATA indicator on the ESATA station flashes for about 10-15 seconds and then stops. The HDD is still spinning and it is still receiving power. Is the DATA led on the ESATA station supposed to be blinking throughout the update procedure?

Because I've left my PS3 "updating" this way for over 4 hours and it did nothing. (The PS3 never turned off, and the Green LED isn't blinking to indicate its trying to shut down)

Is there a solution for this? I've tried two HDD's one was the one my PS3 came with (The 80GB one) and the other is WD Scorpio Black 750GB 2.5".

My PS3 isn't bricked I can get to the Recovery Console fine, I also cannot update my PS3 normally either. When it's updating it always fails at 99%.

PS3 Model: CECHK01
Flasher: E3 Flasher Limited
Dongle: E3 Card Reader (I have PS3Key too, but prefer to use E3 CR)
PS3 FW: 4.10 (HDD formatted)

My HDD is formatted. I can't access the XMB.

If I don't use recovery I get a similar screen saying Unable to boot need to format blah blah blah. And then when I press start and select it looks for my USB.

I put in FW4.10 (I even tried with FW4.11) it formats my drive, initializes the update, then reboots. After rebooting it begins installing the FW, but it always goes in 1% increments all the way to 99% and about 5 minutes later I get an error. (Update Failed error code, forgot what it was exactly).

The ESATA Station works perfectly, I've confirmed this by formatting the entire drive (hard format) and zeroing my HDD (low level format) entirely. It took about 2 hrs for each process.

Restore File System does nothing, it takes me back to the same screen saying my FW is broken and need to insert a USB with FW4.10 or later.

Rebuild Database
and Restore PS3 System both result in an error "Hard disk cannot be accessed".

It loads for a bit (the DATA LED blinks too) but then the LED suddenly vanishes and gets the error.

Restore File System doesn't do much (All it did was reboot my PS3, the result was the same as before). I tried doing the two options again after doing Restore File System; however, that did not work as well.

I'm pretty sure your Model of the PS3 is not downgradable.

It is, I've seen it several places and several people have accomplished on the very same console (and motherboard too which is DIA-02).

Also, if that were the case, I would not have been able to make a backup of my bios of my PS3 using the E3 Flasher.

The Backups are valid too (I've unpacked them and verified the offsets).

I dont know bud, update failing at 99%... cant access the xmb or update normally... sounds like a brick to me bro with every common brick indication. If youve followed the E3 tutorial properly and your pulling your hair out because its not working then try this. Ensure the ribbon cables to your bluray drive are properly connected. Its a rare problem that during updates, loose ribbon cables will not allow completion of your firmware until its fixed. Best of luck if that isnt the problem.

I'm 100% Fairly certain it's clipped properly, since I just opened it. I'm going to try reflashing ONCE again with my old backup (back when my PS3 was working on OFW4.10).

I'm getting kind of the same problem,Except when i try to update it copy's the files over and when it try's to update it says the data is corupted.
