I want to go back and install other OS. iv heared heaps of different stuff on the internet and downgrading is a very risky thing to do so i couldnt just go out and try them all.

Well you could downgrade back, but there is always the risk of you bricking you're system, but I do believe you would need A dongle or e3 flasher to downgrade but I could be wrong on that. And I don't know what you mean by " I have a fat Ps3 on 3.55 with 2.35 FW hardware built"

I mean that when I opened it out of its box it was on 2.35, it is now on 3.55 CFW
And I found out a bit last night, something about an E3 card reader, not a flasher, flashers are like $100 and for downgrading FROM 3.56 and newer. But the e3 card reader is for downgrading FROM 3.55 or lower and is only like $20
I think I’ll make a thread about it when I’ve done it

If I am not wrong. You can downgrade if your PS3 is QA Flagged

rebug has a Toggle QA app for 3.55/3.41 CFW, use it to set a QA flag. Then you can use recovery mode to downgrade.

qa flag it, or install otheros for 3.55

how do i install linux on 3.55. thats half the reason why i want to downgrade

Can't you use A Progskeet or a E3 flasher to downgrade?
I believe you can, but it's pretty expensive I've heard..
