(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hello all,

ive gotta PS3 SLIM CECH 2004B from December 2009,
recently at 6 april 2012 i installed my E3 Flasher, but now it gets overheated within 2 minutes, it is really annoying because 2 minutes are not enough to downgrade.
and at 1 min 30 it goes from fan stand 1 to 5 in less than 10 seconds!
and when iam in recovery mode my PS3 gets overheated in a bit more than 5 minutes

but my question is, how do i solve this?
2 things are maybe important to know:
1. iam OUT of the warranty since december 2011
2. when i opened my PS3 my uncle said (whit him i installed the flasher) that my thermal paste on the CPU and GPU was dried out

so i think i can solve this by buying new thermal paste, but i want to know if there are more people who have the same problem as me!

thank you if you may help me!

if you need more information i maybe forget to mention, you can ask it!

Hmmm i dont know bro, to be honest i dont think its that. Its very rare for slims to overheat due to why they went back to the drawing board and redesigned the PS3. You simply wont find many if any PS3 slims in a workshop for YLOD. I dont doubt that your PS3 is overheating but what im saying is i think your problem lays somewhere else. Perhaps during the installation of your E3 flasher. Thermal paste should be a last resort as tampering with the RSX chip can shorten your PS3s life, if that goes youd either need reballing or a completely new motherboard. Id be double checking that everything inside your slim is in order, the cooling fan, the screws, the motherboard is mounted right etc

I forgot to mention, sometimes its not the thermal paste at all. It sometimes occurs when theres slight seperation of the gpu from the board, this can be contributed sometimes to a loose screw or poor installation which is why its important to recheck it.
