(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); where to start. purchased a ps3 and its on 3.55 and has on the game section /app_ps3 etc and underneath install packages does this mean it has been jailboken. because i have tried to install black box comgenie and its coming up with error i data transfered to my 4.11 and the install packages never transfered over !!! someone out there her my cries, should i just see if i can re jailbreak via media storage. ? HELP!!!!! THANKYOU

If i were you id reinstall everything from scratch and start again. Go back into NGU's playstation exploits and hacks section and at the very top look for the "All firmwares" thread and grab the 3.55 OFW first. Do not grab it from Sonys official site as apparently theres reports that theyve patched there 3.55 OFW PUP file. After youve installed it try and use a safe reliable mainstream firmware like kmeaw, you cant go wrong with it. Other things youll need is a backup manager and the BDEMU pkg. If you dont have them google them, there a necessity for CFW.

so i re installed cfw 3.55-jb and it still comes up saying eror everytime i try to install blackbox or ftp comgenie, why is this? p.s ive tried loads of defferent blackbox and comgenie, the intenet is on obviously, im not signed in but its on, it let me install a patch fine but not the aboves,?? i live near london if anyone lives close and knows how i will dive to them and pay you and bing both my ps3's lol HELP my eyes are starting to hurt from the computer tv screens lol !!! help

Put 3.55 OFW on your usb stick. Make a folder on the USB stick called PS3 and within that a folder called UPDATE. Put the OFW 3.55 in there. Stick the usb stick into your ps3. When you go to update options select Update from memory device. Here's link

Then once this is done and installed. Repeat the process with custom firmware KMEAW CFW You must login or register to view this content.

Some pkg files are signed, and can't be installed depending on the CFW, shouldn't have any problems with KMEAW

i just tried and says no update found but i installed the cwf 3.55 fine, should i restore ps3 system or will that update it to 4.11, just wont let me install a ofw 3.55 i think its because i cant install a ofw over cfw ?? help sorry evry1 must think dumb but just aint happening for me,,,,

U can definitely install the 3.55 Official Firmware over the the CFW3.55. Are you putting the 3.55 OFW in the correct place on your USB stick? You can install it through the normal XMB menu. Go to Update menu, then using update using memory device. Has to be on the USB in the folder the way I described above.

Need a folder called PS3 and within that folder another called Update than put the official firmware in there.
