(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Sorry if this post seems disorganized, but I have a lot of things in my mind that I want to put into this post.

I'm new to NGU, but I've been browsing through threads here and there for the past couple of days and the PS3 modding community is something that I would like to jump into. Even though I am really late.

I plan on using a Jailbreak for modding games, not for downloading them. I really just want to unlock my PS3's potential.

So I have a ps3 that is CECH 3001 that is currently updated to firmware 4.10 with a minimum possible downgrade of 3.70, so I know that PS3 is practically useless at the moment for modding.
On the other hand my friend is willing to trade me his PS3 that is CECH 2001 that is currently at 3.72 but can be downgraded to 2.70.

So as of right now, it seems like the only way to make this happen is by downgrading my friends PS3 and letting him have my newer one. So the question I want to ask is what is the best way to go about doing this. I have read posts about people dual booting OFW 4.11 with CFW 3.55 and that would be an ideal set up for me, but I am sure that it is a lot harder than it sounds. I am also wondering what is the best and safest flasher, ProgSkeet or E3 Flasher or anything else.

If anyone can help me out with some answers or point me to a very detailed step-by-step up-to-date tutorial, then I would extremely appreciate it and can hopefully become an active member of this community.

so I think im gonna go with e3 flasher cause from what I can tell it seems a whole lot safer. my dad also has the original fat ps3 that he stood in line for so he wants me to jailbreak his for him also. its not clear but I think that in order to do dual boot I have to have 2 separate hard drives now. well im still encouraging suggestions and answers.
