Your copy of that firmware is most likely corrupted....Try downloading it again, from a diff source. Check out the wiki below. They are a great source for this stuff:

It could be due to a broken blu ray drive. If you know your bd is broken then format your ps3 hdd, install the bypassed bluray drive firmware from factory mode and you should be good. Only do that if your bd is broken

Or you need to go recovery mode. Its simple, just keep ur finger on power button at start up, 1 beep and shut-down. Do it again, two beeps and tadaa, ur on recovery mode
