Post: E3 flasher causes YLOD
06-13-2012, 11:19 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello,

I have a problem with my E3 flasher, I got it installed and wanted to update my e3 flasher,
that didn't work the blue lights didn't came up.
after that I wanted to try if I could back up my NOR.
I got the error 10001100, so I reopened my PS3 and wanted to reconnect the clip.
the problem was that when I picked off the clip from the NOR the top of it came off.
I just pushed to top on it, and reconnected the clip to the NOR.
When I started the PS3 I got RLOD, and without the E3 flasher my PS3 works fine.
can someone help me with this problem?

Jack

Is it the E3 flasher designed for NOR or NAND?

NOR, but why do you even reply on something you don't know what it is?

Because I just needed to know if you might of accidentally purchased the wrong one. You probably damaged the pins on the E3 flasher when you removed it.And because of the damaged pins you probably broke a pin on the NOR chip and/or corrupted the boot data and other things on the NOR chip.

He's trying to be helpful please respect his manner and his point is valid :y:
Maybe you do have the wrong E3Flasher for your PS3 or... your doing something wrong... you could however just re-program/flash it...

Yeah try preprogramming it. Also here is a good tutorial on how to install it:

I watched that video many times and I'm doing everything right, so I want to know why I get a RLOD
when E3 flasher is on the NOR

EDIT: here's the picture after picking off the top of the clip (sorry that it isn't that sharp)

I tried scrapping some plastic (or what it is) from the clip, this helped a bit because when I start the PS3 the green light is on with the blue light (the ps3 power lights) and after 5~6 seconds it goes to RLOD again

---------- Post added at 07:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:29 PM ----------

I reconnected the clip for the millionst time and this time my ps3 worked again with the e3 flasher, but updating didn't work (no blue lights after update) and backup didn't work too (10001100 error again).
After that I reopened my ps3 again and reconnected the clip (again), and than I got the RLOD (again)....
