I was wondering if there were any intelligent hackers on this forum who could help us out here, is it at all possible to get the game back online somehow, either using a local server, or editing the game data somehow to make the game accept a different server/configuration?

As far as I am aware, the entire game is installed on your PS3, you just need a server to host it. The game doesn't require PSN, so I see no restrictions in jail broken PS3's being able to take it online.

Is it possible in any way?

I just thought because 1) it's not hosted on PSN and 2) the whole game is on your PS3, it might be possible with jailbreak somehow to get on to it?

Don't you connect to PSN and the Konami servers...
As you can't play the game without being on PSN

Yeah how would you go about making the host files, is that a complicated thing?

As far as I am aware, you don't need PSN to get on Metal Gear Online, you only need to be on PSN because it's the only way to take your PS3 online legit, if you hypathetically had a hack that got MGO working, you wouldn't need to go on PSN, jailbroken PS3's would be able to take it online.

Yeah, after 4 years they got shut down which is a shame. One of the best online games ever, which is why it's annoying it's shut down and locked away forever (unless we get it back somehow).

Am betting money the game has files for hosting a game already on the disc as it connected by ded servers.
Possible but going to take alot of work.
