Hello, I've tried to do the same thing you've done and took me forever to just see files onto my ps3 HDD and make it appear onto the list of drives!
Um, Try and use PS3 HDD Studio. Im not sure if it works or not, because i tried it and took forever. I wasnt able to complete it, but i messed up on something and i just quit what i was doing and returned my sata cables. Trust me its a very long process.
