What is good about the DEX Firmware. Can you install it on a already 4.20 ps3?

The DEX firmware is what DEV consoles use. And I don't think you can. If you tried to you would probably brick your PS3.

Well If he would rather have no psn access for a while... I would suggest updating to the latest firmware. Maybe, mod MW2 or any other game first then update so you can keep the mods.
