(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have had this idea for a while, but i'm not a dev, and I don't have the hardware to do it, but kinda like a reverse patch blocker, Patch blocker blocks the game updates and allows you to sign in and play online, but what I was thinking is a feature built in. An awesome feature, that would fetch a fake patch. not fake, but modded. such as in mw2 you have all of the mod menu patches for ps3 with the .pkg I'm assuming that what you download from sony is a .pkg. so you could have the pusher send that over instead of the real patch. allowing the installation of modded patches on non-jailbroken devices. Idk if it would still need to be signed or if you could bruteforce it, I know there have been .PUP's out there that have higher than current fw numbers ex I saw one when it was at 3.66 that said 3.67, it was a supposed jailbreak that installed and didn't allow reverting to 3.66. I have no idea if it could be done or anything, but what can you do without trying or even asking the right people if it is possible. Thanks for even looking at this/thinking about it.
any feedback would be awesome.

P.S. you can run modded patches on non-jailbroken fw by data transfer utility. so the problem is getting the .pkg to install on the ps3, and getting the ps3 to recongnize the .pkg as a patch at all right?

A patch is not a .pkg, a .pkg is the apps you install eg blackbox wich is used to transfer the patch! the only way possible to get a patch on 4.21 is a data transfer, because otherwise you need your ps3 to act as a server wich u need a FTP server eg Blackbox, and black box is NOT signed to 4.21, so it would never work !
P.S. elite mossy patch blocker is just a proxy server!

I remember I saw some guy here post a patch as a .pkg for those who couldn't run homebrew, your idea is cool, but I think it's impossible to make a unsigned package to be a signed one as you need to crack the ECDSA algorithm, make sony accept the package which they would not like at all.

what does the ps3 download when it finds the newest patch? you could "mimic" the server with the proxy and have it linked to a directory on your computer and that would allow you to have modded patches. you could have it overwrite a specific file in your hdd, so long as you know what you're trying to overwrite with a new .ff file. I mean it doesn't sound too abstract of an idea does it?
