My PS3 is the Slim 160GB (CECH-2501A) running 4.20. Now how do I actually get it to 3.55? Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.

You take the ps3 apart and u need to see if your console has a NAND or NOR chip some NAND'S can be done some cant when your ps3 is taken apart then you attach the E3 flasher to the console i dont know to much about it thats all i know really

When I opened my PS3 it didn't look like that, it just had the removable HDD. And my PS3 is the NOR one, I think?

My PS3 has the NOR thing. I went to the link you showed me and I went to his website and it says that my model has the NOR chip.

if its nor then ur good to go just take ur time with the clip because ifs its not on 100% u will get an error

So I am good right? I don't need the eSATA Station for anything, just everything that comes in the box? My main reason for doing this is so I can hack MW2. Will I need another PS3? Or am I good with just one? I just want to be sure I am doing this all right before I start.

No, it's the correct one.

Before you start, do you have:
A USB Memory stick.
A Dongle (E3 Card Reader)
An eSATA station.
A MicroSD card
The correct screwdriver to take the security screw out before you can open the PS3.
A lot of free time to get it working, as the E3 can be pretty unpredictable.


Then look up the ChrisTechTV video where he takes apart the PS3. Make sure you are earthed and are wearing clothes that will not build up a lot of static electricity as you will be handling the motherboard.

The E3 Flasher will downgrade from any FW so you are okay :y:

Only if you are going to data transfer between the two. Other than that no. You can just update to the latest FW and then downgrade again if you want new patches on.
