(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hi there well long story short my friend wanted to change his cfw so i said ok download the 3.55 ofw from dev wiki and sent him the link.. he downloaded it put his 3.55 into recovery mode then started installing the 3.55 ofw it got to 30% and then his ps3 shut down and THERE IT WAS RLOD Angry somebody please help a breddah out

Sorry for the slow reply, but as far as I know YLOD and RLOD are the same thing. Like I said, I've fixed numerous systems, including one just last week that I now use for myself on craigslist (Cheap 80$ 3.55 Happy).

Some call it the RLOD some call it the YLOD... All it is, is a yellow light blinks once then it continues to blink red. Giving it both names I suppose.

And no problem! I fixed mine with a hairdryer to test the method, takes about 20-30 min on each chipset, but it saves you the $80-100 that you would invest in a good heat gun that for people like you, would probably be a one time use.

PS; If you attempt fixing with a hairdryer, I don't recommend doing the method where you put the PS3 into a box, wrap it in a towel and focus the airflow in the back vents of the PS3. I tested this method, RLOD/YLOD came back within a half hour of the system being on. I took it apart, focused on the chipsets, It has now been 3 days and RLOD/YLOD has yet to engulf my system.
